I love translating science into knowledge that people can understand. I am a firm believer that the best diet is no diet at all. Listening to the body, eating well and staying physically active -- these are the best things we can do for ourselves. The power to change our behavior and eating habits is within us. It all starts with a healthy relationship with food.
I was interested in nutrition long before I became a dietitian. I loved making sense out of all the information out there. I wanted to understand it better; to dig deeper and decipher the chaos. And that's just what I did.
I graduated from UC Davis with a Bachelor of Science degree in clinical nutrition. I then took a year off and worked at the UC Davis Medical Center as a dietetic assistant to gain experience in the world of dietetics.
I applied and was accepted into a Dietetic Internship at California State University - Sacramento where I completed 12 months of supervised practice. This was quite the roller-coaster ride where I had an opportunity to work with amazing mentors in multiple settings such as hospitals, dialysis clinics, outpatient clinics, eating disorders clinics, WIC and long term care facilities.
Nutrition is an ever changing field and I'm constantly learning. I keep my registration current by collecting continuing education units.
I currently work as a long term care clinical dietitian and a nutrition coach.
